Murder-Suicide Reported in Fort Collins

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports that Fort Collins Police and other emergency personnel responded to a reported shooting incident in southwest Fort Collins shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday.

Police confirmed that two men are dead in a murder-suicide. Fort Collins Police said in a Facebook post there is no risk to the community.

The incident reportedly involving two males occurred on the 6300 block of Thompson Drive, a dead-end residential street northwest of the intersection of South Shields Street and Trilby Road.

According to a release from Fort Collins Police Services, "The informant reported her husband shot a family member and then himself."

In a Facebook post, Fort Collins Police stated "the identity of the deceased as well as the official manner and cause of death will be released by the Larimer County Coroner."
